When entering a building, guests, clients and patients usually head straight for the reception desk to sign in and register.

 

Whether we are aware of it or not, the first few minutes after entering a building are crucial in shaping our attitude towards the company.

 

On the one hand, the person who welcomes you is crucial, as are all other visual impressions. This also includes the design of the reception desk and the lighting.

Almost every building has a similar layout, whether it is a public building, clinic, hotel, restaurant, office or company building, hairdressing salon, doctor's surgery or airport.

 

An entrance usually leads into a foyer, where guests first find themselves at the reception desk. This reception area is usually marked by a reception counter, which is referred to differently depending on the situation.


The location of the reception desk is usually referred to as the reception in hotels or offices, and as a counter in a post office or bank. In government offices and public buildings, as well as in medical practices, it is often referred to as the registration desk. In hospitals, you go to the admissions desk. At airports, as in hotels, the term check-in counter is used. In larger companies, you often pass through a gate.

 

Depending on the function of this reception area, different lighting solutions are required. In addition to the functional requirements, the visual demands of the hosts must also be taken into account.

Power track system with quick-change lighting system at a click

 

An open, multifunctional reception desk requires flexible lighting. Whether used for registering and advising guests during the day or as a bar for serving drinks at evening events, the lighting requirements change, or it must be suitable for both.

 

A lighting system that can be easily and quickly modified, such as a power rail system, is also ideal for such areas. Movable light heads for targeted illumination

 

Cleverly combined at the reception area of a doctor's office: branched linear AVVENI PENDANT 8 pendant luminaires and AVVENI recessed downlights above a bright, long reception desk, which itself features fresh green curved lighting elements in the cladding and also illuminates the outline on the floor.

 

Cabinet lighting, logo lighting, direct and indirect lighting, depending on how the movable luminaire heads are aligned, all on a branched pendant luminaire structure.

 

Less light is needed on the guest side of the counter and more light is needed on the employee side, which can be easily solved by the linear branched structure with 4 individually adjustable lamp heads on each side, while at the same time creating a harmonious symmetrical image.

Modern rooms and entrance areas, especially in large buildings such as the Thorax Clinic, are often generously proportioned.
