The Baden-Württemberg Association of Cities and Towns was founded on 10 May 1954 in Baden-Baden. Its main tasks are to represent the interests of its 205 members vis-à-vis the state of Baden-Württemberg, the federal government and the European Union.

The Association has an office based in Stuttgart. Since the end of 2006, the office has been located at Königstraße 2, directly opposite the main railway station. Since 2018, the meeting rooms on the top floor of this administrative building have been illuminated by SATTLER Leuchten.

Ring Luminaires in Geometric Shapes

From meeting rooms with small rectangular conference tables to conference rooms with U-shaped seating arrangements

The lighting concept

Consistent appearance

The Baden-Württemberg City Council has meeting rooms of various sizes. All are furnished with office furniture from WALTER KNOLL. The table shapes and sizes vary slightly. All are rectangular in shape, but come in different sizes, some with recesses in the middle or arranged in a large U-shape. At the same time, a consistent colour scheme is used throughout.

Combination of pendant lights and recessed ceiling spotlights

A combination of lights was also used in all rooms: large-format polished aluminium pendant lights above the tables and white round recessed ceiling downlights along the walls.

The pendant lights used, all from the SOFT series, were chosen in the shapes of a rounded rectangle, SOFT SQUARE, and a rounded triangle, SOFT DELTA. Despite the different shapes, their uniform surface, clear and reflective thanks to the choice of polished aluminium and with an opal diffuser on the inside of the ring as well as the same profile height, offers the viewer a harmonious, repetitive and at the same time varied image.

Tasteful interior design

The rooms are furnished with high-quality materials and furniture, creating a clear and inviting atmosphere. Classic and timelessly modern. Minimalist, elegant and comfortable at the same time.

A light wooden floor creates a warm base, dark rectangular tables combined, as here, with light upholstered chairs. Large-format luminaires with reflective surfaces, almost symbolic of the task of the Baden-Württemberg City Council to represent the voices of its members.

A successful overall project in the heart of Stuttgart.
